GUBI'S PHILOSOPHY AND THEIR DESIGNERS
The Danish brand GUBI focuses mainly on furniture and lighting, but also mirrors and accessories can be found in this colourful collection. The collection is based on the Olsen brothers' creative vision and intuition.
Pieces from the 50s, 60s and 70s but even from before are remade, with a big focus on the forgotten icons. They call themselves "Treasure Seekers. For example, the 1930 Bestlite lamp by Robert Dudley Best has been brought by Gubi into production since the 1990's. This iconic lamp once stood on the desk of Winston Churchill. They are constantly searching for future with classic and sustainable designs. Such as the new classic: the Beetle series, chairs and stools designed by the contemporary design duo GamFratesie.

MODELS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
The Organic Basket Collection is one of their latest treasures, designed by Joe Colombo in the 1960s. At first you are surprised, but Colombo's designs are so organic as well as aesthetic and the material is used in such innovative ways that it remains a true Colombo that was brought back into production by Gubi at the right time.
Their best-known chair, now it is a series with bar stools, loungers and footstools is probably still the Beetle. Used in many restaurants and hotels as well as in people's homes, this friendly Beetle is almost a personality. THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND HISTORY OF GUBI
Liesbeth and Gubi Olsen founded their company Gubi in 1967. Initially, they focused on Olsen's furniture designs and textiles. Since 2001, sons Jacob and Sebastiaan have been the leaders. Their creative take on furniture from the last century has ensured that many beautiful designs have been brought back into production. Many of these pieces have been designed by famous artists, architects and creative designers. Young designers of today also get a chance at GUBI. As a result, the collection is diverse, adventurous and rich. Gubi has a luxurious feel and is so important that they even influence new trends. They took part in the art deco wave that is still current. Also, Gubi is one of the very first brands to use brass and velvet materials on a large scale again. Meanwhile, they embraced wicker and rattan with the Basket collection, with the futuristic Joe Colombo chair as a stunning example.
